Join us on Tuesday, November 20 for Dr. Ko’s Coats for Kids concert! Organized by Dr. Jee Yeoun Ko and The NOCCA Institute, this annual event collects winter coats for children in need and offers attendees an evening of outstanding holiday music from some of New Orleans most beloved performers.

The concert begins at 7:00pm at NOCCA (2800 Chartres Street), in Solomon Family Hall. This year’s lineup includes Ellis Marsalis, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Faubourg Quartet, and Dr. Ko. As a special treat, NOCCA’s Music students will perform for half an hour before the concert. For admission to the concert, guests can bring a new or gently used coat, or make a gift of $10. Reserve your seat at NOCCAInstitute.Eventbrite.com.

This year, we’ve also added a special Sponsor Soiree at 5:30pm. Guests will meet some of the amazing musicians performing for Coats for Kids, and they’ll enjoy food and drink from great local restaurants like Barcelona Tapas, Cake Cafe and Bakery, DiMartino’s Famous New Orleans Muffulettas, Little Korea BBQ, and Tito’s Ceviche & Pisco Peruvian Cuisine. We’ll also celebrate the birthday of jazz legend and longtime Coats for Kids supporter, Ellis Marsalis! Tickets to the Sponsor Soiree are $100 per person or $150 per couple and can be reserved at NOCCAInstitute.Eventbrite.com.

“Many families in New Orleans can’t afford winter coats for their children,” says Dr. Jee Yeoun Ko, cellist and chair of NOCCA’s Classical Music division. “This concert helps to ensure that kids have the clothing they need to stay warm when the temperature drops.”

Dr. Ko’s Coats for Kids is presented in partnership with The NOCCA Institute, NOCCA’s nonprofit partner.

I have two coats, both adult size medium, that would be suitable for high school juniors or seniors. Both are clean and in good condition. Are these acceptable?
