This Saturday, February 7: Paper Maché Mask Workshop With NOCCA Alum Jacob Reptile

Artist and NOCCA Visual Arts alum Jacob Reptile will host our first-ever workshop at 5 Press Gallery on February 7th, from 1pm-5pm. In this workshop, attendees will learn to use contact cement to start and finish a paper maché mask in four hours. This method allows for quick building because of its short drying time, and the end result is much lighter than traditional flour-and-water methods.

This is a beginner’s class, and all skill levels are invited. Construction materials for masks will be provided. Cost of the workshop is $30.

You will need to bring:

  • scissors
  • box cutter
  • decoration materials (fringe, feathers, glitter, spray paint, you name it!)

To prepare, start figuring out what you want to make, then come dressed ready to get your hands dirty!
