CULINARY TREATS

Culinary marketplace bannerCafe Olé Chocolate Coffee Brittle: $20
NOCCA’s Culinary Arts students have gotten their chocolate in your peanut brittle! This take on the time-honored holiday treat uses a mix of flavors that span the Americas: pumpkin pie meets Mexican chocolate and blends with sugar, pepitas (pumpkin seeds), butter, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, salt, and a heady mix of spices. A full pound of goodness!

Zesty Cheese Straws: $30
We’ve taken this beloved Southern classic and given it a unique twist. Whether you enjoy these cheese straws as a cocktail snack or give them to your fave holiday host, they’re sure to please. Each gift tin contains over one pound of super cheesy crisps with a hint of herbs and a zip of heat – try to eat just one! Ingredients include sharp cheddar cheese, all-purpose flour, butter, spices, and herbs.

Cranberry Preserves: $6
The holidays just aren’t the same without the taste of tart cranberries. NOCCA’s Culinary Arts students have created eight-ounce jars of preserves perfect for gift-giving. The simple, straightforward list of ingredients includes cranberries, sugar, orange, and vanilla.

Perfect Holiday Pup Treats: $12
Pamper the furriest member of your family with a dozen howlingly good hound treats. Cut by hand and baked in NOCCA’s Culinary Arts Studio, these tasty biscuits are made from organic peanut butter, oats, barley flour, and brown rice flour. They’re sure to have your pup begging for more — literally!

Nuts for NOCCA: $35
Looking for the perfect holiday gift or pre-meal snack? Try this one-and-a-half pound tin of sweet and savory deliciousness, coated in three special flavors: milk chocolate-covered, sugar-roasted, and Creole-spiced. Order two, because as soon as you open the tin, they’ll be “gone, pecan!” Ingredients include pecans, milk chocolate, sugar, confectioner’s sugar, vanilla, olive oil, spices, and herbs.

Spice Up Your Life Spice Blends: $22
Whether you’re a trained cook or have a budding Emeril Lagasse on your shopping list, this collection of spices is guaranteed to be a holiday hit. Each order contains four distinctive blends created by NOCCA’s Culinary Arts department so that you (or someone you love) can cook like our students do in class. Each two-ounce mix is packed in a windowed tin for easy identification.

  • Citrus Salt: kosher salt, citrus zest, pink peppercorns, onion, garlic, spices
  • Bloody Mary: paprika, tomato, dill, celery seed, horseradish, vinegar, lemon, spices, herbs
  • Quentin’s Veggie Blend: turmeric, sugar, molasses, paprika, garlic, spices, herbs
  • Truman’s Herb Salt: Press Street Garden herbs, kosher salt, lemon zest, garlic, spices

Pie of the Month Club: $100
If you’ve got someone with a sweet tooth on your shopping list, consider giving them a five-month membership (January – May) in NOCCA’s Pie of the Month Club. Each month, they’ll pick up a freshly baked treat made by NOCCA’s Culinary Arts students using seasonal ingredients. (Please note: We can’t ship pies at this time, but we’re happy to send a certificate suitable for gifting!)

5 Press Gallery marketplace bannerCutting Board by James Goeder: $40
James creates his cutting boards at The Confectionery artist and maker studios on nearby Port Street, using salvaged exotic hardwoods. James is an instructor at Shakerag, a summer adult artist workshop program in Tennessee.

Noodle Bowl by Karin Burt: $35
These porcelain thrown bowls (sold with wooden chopsticks) were created by NOCCA alum Karin Burt at her studio, The London Clayworks, which is located on Royal Street near NOCCA. In addition to making great ceramics, Karin teaches a number of clay workshops at her studio.

LMNO Beasts Letterform Notepads by Todd Maggio: $5
These are hand-assembled, laser-cut notepads with laser-cut and screen-printed typography. The lightning bug design glows in the dark! They were created by Todd Maggio, who teaches product design at Louisiana Tech in Ruston, Louisiana and has worked as a visiting artist in NOCCA’s Visual Arts department.

Blue Vase by Heather Lane: $35
These stoneware vases with rutile and cobalt oxidation glaze are made by Heather Lane from Byrdie’s Studio and Gallery on St. Claude Avenue. Heather teaches pottery to others and hosts exhibitions at Byrdie’s Gallery, with shows by new artists every month.

Happy Holidays greeting cards from Small Fires Press: $5
Spread some holiday cheer with a beautiful “Happy Holidays” greeting card, created by New Orleans-based Small Fires Press. Cards are available in two designs, one green, the other red. Both are printed on cream paper, with a matching envelope.

Make a donation to The NOCCA Institute in honor or in memory of someone special. Your contribution will help fund our Financial Aid program for students, a comprehensive Artists-in-Residence program, and many other initiatives that benefit students, faculty, and the community. The NOCCA Institute is a 501(c)(3) organization, and your donation is tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowable by law.
